Polkadot Patch Baby Boutique: Great baby gifts and more

Everyo once in a while we do have to take a vacation. And some of us are on a whooper right now! I’m thrilled to say we are exploring the far western reaches of our country and enjoying the cool weather and stunning scenery. Another nice part of this vacation is meeting some of our suppliers face to face. What a treat! It’s always so wonderful to meet our artisans and thank them for being a part of our store. We are very committed to working with talented women (and a few men!) who design and produce fabulous products for children. We feel so fortunate that we can represent as many talented designers as we do! Unfortunately we cannot represent everyone but are always happy to hear from anyone who makes unique baby gifts or children’s products. So feel free to contact us if you do!

We have been getting requests to restock our cute knit baby toys…especially the koala bear and the orange alien toys. These little toys are just so cute in person. Colorful. Fun. Yes…our summer clearance sale is in full swing. We have been seeing many customers take advantage of this annual sale an dwe are excited that we actually have fall items starting to arrive. Crazy…I know…but it’s just how it goes.

So one of my favorite parts of Polkadot Patch Boutique if finding the new, fun products that we are known for. Currently I am on a well needed vacation. Even though I do still have computer access and am checking in on the business, I am excited about the new items that I have been finding across the country! Finding new items that are so fresh and fun makes this job fun for me. One of my new favorites will be some great new baby toys for the fall and absolutely adorable baby girl clothes. Not any pinky pink things with frills and lace, but whimsical styles with fantastic prints! Can’t wait to debut these in a few months!

Gotta love this fun little girls outfit for summer. If you haven’t finished your summer shopping yet, this outfit is just too cute. It would be such an adorable outfit for a first baby girl or even a second or third. We love seeing little girls in pink with a design that doesn’t scream PRINCESS! I have to say that one of my new favorite lines is the Funny Baby Onesie line. This hilarious line is perfect for baby gifts that will get a chuckle or two. The “I’m Not A Boy” onesie has to be my favorite. Probably because when my daughter was an infant she was bald as can be until almost 2 (maybe even 2 1/2) How easy it  would have been to dress her in this funny onesie to ease the tension when someone asked, “How old is your little boy?” and I’d have to explain she was indeed a bald baby girl wearing blue. Of course I would have had to do laundry all the time so she could wear it non-stop but it totally would have been worth it. Take a look at how cute this is for a bald baby. Ok…I know it’s a bit early, but we have started our summer clothes sale. It does seem a bit crazy with the official date of summer not even here yet (June 21) and we have just begun to wear shorts, tanks, and yes, even bathingsuits! But believe it or not…we will have our fall and winter inventory arriving in about a month or two. So in the name of making room for incoming inventory, we have begun to slash prices on all of our baby clothes and gifts. Whether you still have months of hot weather ahead of you (think Texas and Alabama) or you want to start planning ahead and finding cute clothes for next year (think Vermont and New Hampshire), it’s a great time to check out our new summer clearance sale. I’m one of those people who buy ahead…I always am grateful that I did!

It’s time to feature one of our new, favorite items in our online store. We are thrilled to introduce our fun children’s lunchboxes. These are not an ordinary lunchbox. They are the funkiest peanut butter sandwich carriers I’ve ever seen. And what’s more…the are personalized with a child’s name. These lunchboxes are just too fun for a kiddo. Can you just imagine a little kiddo sitting at the lunchbox with all the “ohhhhs” and “ahhhs”? And this time it won’t be for the Oreo cookie.

Yes…it’s a little early to be thinking of back to school ideas when summer is just starting, but we know these children’s lunchboxes are hot and will be selling quickly. Get ‘em now before the August rush!

Well…it’s that time again. SUMMER! Well not officially yet, but it feels like it! Kids are either out of school or getting out of school soon, it’s HOT, and it’s time for vacations! Gotta love that. Not the hot part though. If I had my druthers it would be 74 degrees all the time!

So while it’s hot, we’ve decided to start our summer sales so the clothes can be worn right away! One of my favorite things about Polkadot Patch is the discovery of new and unique items. There are so many wonderful people who make amazing products for babies and children and we are honored to work with so many artisans. On a daily basis we are contacted by people with unique products they have deisgned. I’m sorry when we can’t work with them all. Sometimes we are not the right type of store (example punk rock baby products) or other times we already have a similar product already. I sure do wish we could somehow support everyone, but alas….we really try to stay true to our mission and philosophy. And there is only some such room for mulitple products that are fairly similiar.

 There is something to be said for someone who has a vision, creates their own product designs, and makes them by hand. I’m always amazed by the creativity and talent that so many people have. I wish I could sew or paint or create some of the amazing unique baby gifts that we are known for. But for now, I am proud to support others who definitely are more talented than me.

 So, keep ‘em coming. We love to see the amazing items that everyone makes and are honored when we can sell them in our store!
