Polkadot Patch Baby Boutique: Great baby gifts and more

We’ve been getting more and more requests to not only sell internationally, but also to sell wholesale. We have some plans in action to better facilitate these two requests. We love when we receive suggestions that are practical and ones we actually can fulfill. We have seen great growth with our baby boutique and the feedback from our customers and suppliers has been tremendously encouraging.

What an exciting time for our baby boutique. Our store is growing, our customer feedback has been wonderful, and we have been making wonderful partnerships. We just came back from a workshop that was so enlightening and enriching. As a former teacher, I am always dedicated to learning new things and this workshop was up my alley.

At the workshop, we received so many encouraging comments from our fellow participants about our store and about our adoble baby girl clothes. One woman even said she was so glad to meet a mother who didn’t drool for pink. One item that garnered a lot of praise is our Mod Flower Twirly Skirt Set. There was definitely some giggles and laughs because a few couldn’t image a baby girl wearing it, but believe me it is adorable when on.

Things have been busy here at the Patch. We have still received in a second shipments of our Beary Basics line. Due to the overwhelming response from our customers for these clothes, we have restocked many of the summer favorites. If you watched Oprah last week, you probably saw when Oprah entered Tom Cruise’s house in CO, she picked up a pair of ladybug shoes. Much to our astonishment, we recognized those shoes as one of our own products. Now talk about exciting! Tom was enthusiastic about telling Oprah “Ladybugs are Suri’s favorite” and showed our girls ladybug shoes seen below. How cool is that? And what’s even more cool…we have them on sale this week as part of our weekly sale!

We are always on the lookout for cute toddler clothes for boys and girls. The thing about toddler clothes in my opinion, is that you want your toddler to look child-ish, but not baby-ish. And we definitely don’t think toddlers should dress like adult-ish as so many styles today seem to push.

Toddler clothes need to be comfortable for play and moving. They are always on the go, so their clothing needs to accomodate their active lifestyle! In fact, if you can keep up with a toddler…wow, that’s impressive. Their energy and constant movement is enough to wear out even professional athletes!

Because they are moving so much, toddlers also need clothes that are easy to care for. Yes, life with toddlers means more laundry…a sad, but realistic fact of life. These independent minded kiddos want to do everything themselves which often translates into everything winding up on their clothes. So finding machine washable clothes for toddlers is a must.

Here at Polkadot Patch, we hand select all of our clothing. We purposely choose styles and designs for children who love to play, eat, sleep, pretend, and explore in their clothes. Sock monkey dolls are getting to be hip and popular again! Don’t you love how trends cycle back through? I remember these dolls when I was a child and knew people who would make these from the red heeled socks. Now in our store we have sock monkeys on shirts, hats, burp clothes, blankets, but nothing is more popular than the original sock monkey dolls.

We were thrilled to find these handmade sock monkey dolls. In three different styles, there surley is one that a child would love. Even though I’m not much into girly girl things, I have to admit the sock monkey ballerina doll gives me a chuckle every time I see her. I think it’s the idea of a monkey in a tutu. At any rate, these sock monkey dolls are expertly handcrafted and made from the original red-heeled socks. I can’t wait until we have other sock monkey animals too….

Items like these make us proud here at the Patch. Not only are they handcrafted (which we love to support), but they are made here in the USA. We are big supporters of the arts, especially artisans who create products for children. And what child wouldn’t just love to play with this guy?

You have got to see these new handcrafted baby blanket sets we’ve just received in. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve seen a more perfect baby gift. Parents will appreciate the blanket right away for keeping baby warm and then in about 6 or 7 months, baby will love the doll he/she can hold and play with!

These baby blankets are the most plush fleece I’ve ever felt. Not just soft, but melt in your fingers soft. If I could have a blanket like this in my king size bed…I’d do it! The cotton prints are the kinds that are so rare on baby blankets and the kind that baby will actually take notice of.

But, I have to admit, it’s the matching soft doll that makes this set complete. Crafted in the same cotton print, these dolls are just so sweet. With yarn hair, embroidered eyes and rounded hands/feet…these dolls will be the one baby wants to cuddle and treasure. And I love that there is actually a boy doll too…how often is that done? They are even different ethnicities too if you really want to be accurate. But I can say from my own children who saw these when they came in…it didn’t matter if it was a boy or girl doll or what color the skin or blanket print…they wanted one. Badly!
