Polkadot Patch Baby Boutique: Great baby gifts and more

Ok…I admit it. I’m a bit fond of aliens and martians. And yes, of course, UFO’s. I love when I find baby and children’s clothes having a space theme! Not sure why it is…but I just love them for both boys and girls. Maybe I’m one of those people who long to travel to space. So naturally, when we found this adorable Sozo ufo onesie, we just HAD to add it to our inventory! A lot of people would only see this as a boys outfit, but I’d put it on my little girl. It could easily be worn alone, or paired up with the rocket pants.  Either way, you can’t loose! And who wouldn’t just love the moon and star on the bottom!

We love it when we get to talk with customers directly like I did today. It often reaffirms our mission and philosophy of our store, but sometimes we are given very valuable feedback that we can use to improve our store and our customer’s experiences. Today we received information that will help use improve the usability of our store for visitors. It was something that we overlooked simply because we are in our store on a daily basis, but something that will make the process easier for our customers.

 So thank you for the great input!

Running a store in the summer can be hard! The weather is just perfect, the kids are out of school, and who wants to be cooped up inside working?? Certainly no one I know! Fortunately for us, our store can operate 24-7 being an online store. That’s a definite advantage in the summer.

We’ve been busy nonetheless gearing up for our fall inventory to start to arrive. Even now after we’ve been at this for a while, it still amazes me that planning has to take place 6 months in advance. So we’ve been discounting the inventory we still have in stock and looking into avenues to move overstocks. This has opened a lot of interesting doors and opportunities for us and we’re excited about possibilities coming our way.

Our store keeps growing every day and we are so thankful for our loyal customers. We love how the vision of the store is coming together and still we are loving it every day. Even on beautiful summer days when we don’t want to work!

For all those Dads, Grandfathers, Step-fathers, Uncles, Foster Dads and Godfathers out there–Happy Father’s Day! We hope every father figure out there has had a joyful and fun day! We know the importance of strong father figures and it is our hope that every child has at least one male who is a positive role model.

Here it was a beautiful, gorgeous Vermont day and our family had to get out and enjoy it! So we wish all the dads a great day!

As I searched the web today, I noticed that almost every (ok…maybe every other) clothing website seems to have some sort of “summer sale” going on. I know…I know…it seems so early for those of us in the industry and the official first day of summer hasn’t even arrived (next Thurs. for those who are wondering). But it’s all about making room for the fall and winter inventory that will soon be arriving into stores and on the shelves. It’s a great time to get great finds for this summer or to stock up for next year. I’m one of those shoppers who plans for next year and I’m shopping the online sales too! (But for once it’s for me and not the kiddos!)

So if you shop early…you may just get the bargains I’m finding! Unless of course, I get ‘em first!

Here in VT school is still in session for at least another week (and for some districts even longer with a number of snow days to make up!) and the official first day of summer hasn’t even arrived. (June 21st — just in case you were wondering) YET…here at Polkadot Patch Boutique we are already marking down our summer items from shorts to rompers to sleeveless dresses. It seems crazy to me that summer isn’t even in full swing, yet our clearance section is beginning to show all our summer items! That’s great news for our customers who (like us) always like to save a little money!
