Polkadot Patch Baby Boutique: Great baby gifts and more

We hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! We took the time to enjoy the weekend with our family and a well needed break from the Patch! Yes…we do love our baby clothes store, but at the same time, we need to make sure life is balanced! Having kiddos at home and a successful business, not to mention housework, and enjoying life….it all needs to be balanced so each area of life can grow.

Running a small business like Polkadot Patch Boutique is very rewarding in many ways. There is nothing like creating a succesful business, watching it grow and develop, and filling a void that many parents and gift givers are searching for: non-stereotyped baby clothes and gifts. It’s easy to work, work, work and yet…we’ve learned that that isn’t always in the best interest of the business! It’s just as important to take care of the backbone of the business (it’s employees) as it is to take care of the inner workings of the business. With that being said…we at the Patch believe in working hard…and playing hard!

So we hope you, too, enjoyed the holiday weekend and hope you, too, are keeping your life (and work) in balance!

After many long and snowy months…today it finally feels like summer weather here in VT! The temperature is in the high 80’s and the kids are wearing bathing suits! This type of weather is truly cherished in VT especially when we just had snow a few months ago.

Before we know it school will be out and the “official” days of summer will begin! Here at the Patch we are enjoying the weather and hoping to use summer days to start blogging about more information for our loyal customers, vendors, and fellow bloggers alike! We hope to expand our blog in new, exciting ways and would love to hear feedback from anyone wishing to provide it to us!

Every parent who has seen this Lil Stinker baby onesie has smiled that knowing smirk of motherhood (or fatherhood!) Little babies as cute as they are, sometimes have moments of truly being little stinkers…. literally! So…this fun onesie makes one of those unique baby gifts that new parents appreciate on multiple levels! And when baby wears it…other people will get that knowing smirk too! My favorite part is the back end which appropriately reads “stinker”! Perfect for a baby boy or baby girl. (They are equally little stinkers!)

Here at Polkadot Patch Boutique, we love funky and unique baby clothes. BUT…sometimes we have a hard time finding clothing that always meets our philosophy to challenge the usual stereotyped clothing of pink and blue.

So when we found this baby girl power shirt stating President, Not Princess …we were thrilled to say the least! I know for me, I would rather have my daughters wear this shirt compared to the “diva” or “princess” shirts that I see everywhere. I’m in love with this shirt and hopefully, it might even come true one day!

It is frustrating when the United States Post Office again decides to raise it rates! Unfortunately that means we have to raise our shipping rates as well for Polkadot Patch Boutique. We hope to NOT raise the rates too much….we want to keep our prices affordable, including shipping costs. Since the USPS will be putting the new rates in effect on Monday…we will too.

So…shop now for shipping savings before the new rates are changed! We believe in saving money where you can!

C’mon are these not the most adorable little girls ladybug shoes you’ve ever seen? Just when I think I’ve seen all the cute shoes out there in the world of children’s clothing…we find these adorable sneakers and shoes from Monkey Toes. These unique shoes are individually hand painted with care (and lots of patience if you ask me)! And personally, I love the curly, elastic shoe laces! I’m sick and tired of velcro…these are such a fun change! When my kiddos saw these shoes they begged to have them…now that’s an endorsement if you ask me!

We just got in a new shipment of some very, very fun baby clothes that we know our customers are going to LOVE! Yes…we are yelling that! These are so cute and are truly gender neutral clothes that are similar to Sozo clothes. They feature bold, bright colors with adorable characters in classic, easy to wear styles for babies. We know they will be great baby gifts for newborns and infants!

 So…stay tuned. We need to process all the clothes to get them into our store, but we have a goal of Weds. to have them live and available. I know I’m teasing here with this blog post, but believe me…these are going to be HOT sellers at the Patch!

I don’t know many kiddos who don’t love animals…especially cute cuddly ones. And since here at Polkadot Patch we love both animals AND unique baby gifts, we thought how fun is this…combining animals for a unique gift for a new Mom! This funky retro cat diaper bag from Laura Z is just so wonderful. The print is fun and then coordinating pieces make it everything a new Mama could want. It’s a high quality diaper bag and so unique that every new Mom won’t be carrying it. We love being different from everyone else!
