Have a very, very Merry Christmas.
It’s officially winter today but it feels like time for spring clothes!
So today, December 21st is the official first day of winter, but here in Vermont we don’t have any snow and it’s actually nice outside! We are still wearing our coats and gloves, but with sunny, crisp days like this…it already has me thinking about spring. I actually enjoy the snow (but hate all clothing layers that is necessary) and I look forward to being out playing in the drifts with the kids. On days like this though…I actually won’t mind if winter just bypassed us and we went straight into spring.
Even though I wish it didn’t get so dark so early (especially today on the winter solstice), I do enjoy experiencing short winter days. It makes spring so much more enjoyable when the days do get longer.
So while I do yearn for spring, today I want to celebrate the coming of winter. I think I’ll have a cup of cocoa and wear some wool socks!
Talk about some funky baby clothes!
So every once in a while we find a children’s clothing manufacturer that we see and scream “YES” when we see it. “Yes” because it’s fun, hip, colorful and funky! Urbanbino embraces everything that I love about clothing and what’s even better…is it’s for children. I absolutely LOVE this design and wish that I could have it for myself. In fact, I need to persuade the manufacturer to make an adult size. I have a passion for art and for bold graphics so for me, this design is the eptimone of funky style with class and sophistication. This is the bullseye onesie that absolutely is perfect for a unisex, gender neutral baby gift. This sure would get some attention when opened at a baby shower!
Spring and summer clothes for kids is just around the corner
I know. I know…it’s not even the New Year so how can I already be talking spring and summer clothing? Well, believe it or not, we are beginning to receive our orders for warm weather clothes for kids. Even though here in VT we are waiting to snow to fall to truly appreciate winter, boxes of t-shirts and shorts will start to arrive daily. It’s somewhat bizarre to unpack shorts while wearing a wool sweater, but it’s the way of the apparel industry. And it’s also a little inspiring when it’s blistering cold and we’re just waiting for spring to see a tank top and skort!
Happy Hanukkah to our friends and customers!
To all of our friends and customers who celebrate Hanukkah, we at Polkadot Patch Boutique want to wish you a joyful holiday and celebration. Enjoy the traditions of lighting the menorah, playing dreidel, and eating latkes! YUM!
We hope you have a wonderful holiday season and look forward to talking and assisting you in 2007!
Busy and busier with holiday sales and we love it!
Things at the Patch have been busy. (Now that’s an understatement!) Shoppers are definitely out and about and our store has been busy and then even more busy. We have a lot of products to put into our store and we can’t wait to get these new items on the the new arrivals page.
In the meantime, we’re busy wrapping, packaging, and processing orders. And don’t get me wrong…we LOVE it. We love sharing all of our wonderful clothes and gifts with everyone and we do feel our motto “We’re dressing the spirit of childhood.” is really coming true!
A unique diaper bag that really WILL make you smile!
So when I saw this diaper bag from Dante Beatrix I couldn’t help but to smile. Not only does it bring back some very fond memories of my younger days when I was into doodling smiley faces and peace signs, but it just makes me happy to see it. Talk about a very unique and fun diaper bag! This happy smiling diaper tote is durable, large enough to hold all the necessities and simply is a lot more fun than the drab pastel ones or the boring black ones. I love it and I’m tempted to see if I can convert one somehow into my laptop carrier! C’mon, just try to look at it and NOT smile!
A very fun new big brother or big sister gift!
This is such a great idea! I know that when I had my second child, I really appreciated when friends and family thought to give my first child a little gift. As the baby was receiving gift after gift, it was hard on my older child to understand why she wasn’t getting all the loot too! Sometimes it’s a hard lesson to learn, but being an older brother or sister is a new job. So that is why when we saw this unique gift idea for a new big brother/sister, we knew it was such a great idea! This gift is the perfect big brother or big sister gift to give the older sibling when a new baby enters a family. It comes complete with a checklist, bubbles, a disposible camera, a coloring book and crayons, and even a snack. So FUN for a kiddo too!
Looking for an easy & fast baby gift - try a gift certificate!
So…I’m busy shopping and getting gifts for family and friends and know how time consuming it can be! For me, I’ve been racking my brains to find gifts that would be perfect for everyone on my list. Personally, I’m a big fan of gift certificates because I like letting people choose their own perfect gift. Even here at Polkadot Patch, we’ve been seeing these sell for us for people who love our store (as much as we do) but don’t know quite what to choose.
So easy…gotta love that!
Ok, we are not anti pink for little girls - here is proof!
So sometimes I get the impression that people think we are anti-pink. Not true. In fact hot pink is one of my favorites for little girls! I’m just anti-baby pastel pink that is the only color that many manufacturers think that parents want for a baby girl. It’s boring if you ask me. Now…a bright hot pink, a fuschia, or even a cotton candy pink when made exciting can be so fun. When we saw this fabric from Anita G with the swirls and matched with stripes for this fun summer shorts set we knew that even though it was pink…it was pink with a sassy pizazz. Now that’s what we’re talking about for a little gir!
