Polkadot Patch Baby Boutique: Great baby gifts and more

When ZaZa Couture came out with this funky, funky girls lola dress and tights we just had to have it! It’s so fun for a little girl who has a personality is as colorful as this outfit! Between the polkadots, stripes, flowers, ruffles, and big twirling skirt…there couldn’t be a better combination of fabrics and textures. This is the type of dress that both little girls and their moms love. It’s adorable, comfortable, and a little sassy! Sounds like my daughter!

Trying to find a simple, yet really cute baby outfit can be hard. There are lots of choice in big box stores, but if you ask me…they all look alike. I’m tired of teddy bears, stars, and the pink and blue for new babies. I love simple images that are packed with meaning like this adorable outfit from One Acorn. This cute set says “kiss me” with a frog prince on the chest. Although I think it’s a perfect unisex baby outfit, I do realize that some parent’s wouldn’t put brown pants on a little girl. Even though brown is the new black, for some it’s just too boyish. Not me though! I like to challenge stereotypes and dress my child in clothes that reflect her personality whether the color is traditionally “boy” or “girl”.

When I see this outfit, the classic image matched with fun language makes me think…”now that’s cute!”. I love it and plan to give it for my next baby gift for a friend.

It’s time to get ready for the holidays if you haven’t started already…believe me, I know. I just realized today that I only have a month until Christmas. YIKES! Like many of our customers, I am a Mom with plenty of gifts to give to children, family, teachers, and everyone else I need to remember.

So, while I will be doing some shopping for unique chidlren’s gifts for friends at the Patch I did want to remind our loyal customers that until Monday (cyber Monday for website savvy people!) we are offering free shipping on orders over $50. This is great savings over the usual free shipping for orders over $99!

We absolute can’t say enough praise for these beautiful fairy dolls from Vermont Fairies. These individually handcrafted dolls are so beautiful in person that it’s hard to believe they are so affordable! These fairy dolls are perfect for making a little girl’s fairy dreams come true. We especially love the family fairy set with a Mama, Daddy, and little baby. They are perfect for little hands, but will have to be treated with respect in that they are not plastic and can break if handled too roughly. But….every little girl will absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these dolls. I do…and I’m an adult!

Just once I’d love to have more time than I knew what to do with. Between running a business, a family, a home, and trying to stay connected with friends and family….it seems like there are always things that are overlooked, neglected, or forgotten.

So during this holiday season as I try to get everything done, I want to just make sure to take time for what is really important: my family, friends, and myself. It can be as simple as a book to read at night, savoring a child’s hug, a warm cup of tea or coffee in the morning, returning a friends phone call, or cooking a special meal for someone you love. Or it could be far more involved too….

My point is while our life at Polkadot Patch Boutique revolves around children’s clothes and gifts, it’s certainly NOT the only thing in our life. We have rich, full lives and it’s important to remember not only now, but always.

So I’m going to work on slowing down, breathing in, and appreciating all that I have in my life. That’s my gift to myself this holiday season.

Sometimes we get a new product that just makes us giggle or say “WOW”. This handcrafted hat is one of those. It’s so funky that even those of us who love a little extra funk said “WOAH” when seeing it. This blue unisex monster hat from Robin’s Hoods is just too fun. The designer created it to help her own children scare away the “monsters” in the house and then realized it could be a “fun”-tional hat as well. The warm felted wool will keep a child’s head warm, and the fantastical monster on it will keep all others far from the house or yard. Very, very funky and very unique for either a girl or boy!

So sometimes when you see a product, you think to yourself…”Wow, I have to have that!”  We had that exact thought when we saw these fun handcrafted puppets from Designs by Lanese. These puppets are just so cute! Whether it’s pink, yellow, green, or blue…this funky dragon puppet is a gift that children can interact with and it doesn’t have batteries. Thank goodness! It’s high quality, well made, and so very cute–especially the super long tail. It’s a gift that could work for a birthday, holiday, or for any other special event!
