Polkadot Patch Baby Boutique: Great baby gifts and more

Every now and then something doesn’t work out the way your planned. That’s when “going with the flow” really makes life a little bit easier. Sometimes shipments arrive incomplete, or incorrect, but we don’t let this bother us too much…even when sometimes it does. We just got in this fun ZaZa Bebe boys romper that should have arrived about a month ago to compliment the other pieces in this line. We love it so much…the striped snail romper actually was our favorite piece from the new ZaZa Bebe line. We’re so glad that it finally came. We wish it arrived with the other pieces, but at least it wasn’t cancelled. We know this will be a favorite ’cause it’s so absolutely unique and adorable.

So here in Vermont we are now gearing up for winter. That means packing up summer clothes, closing up pools, and beginning to think about (oh…alas…) winter snowsuits and fleece. Our summer is short, but we love the arrival of autumn. As we watch the trees turn gold, red, and orange, we love the crisp cool weather but dread the shorter days. But…on a good note, there is always something so comforting about bundling up in warm sweaters and fleece that make apple picking, snowshoeing, and winter hiking even more fun.

We’re thinking fleece because we have been working with a number of great, new artisans who make the most delicious fleece items for children. We can’t wait to introduce the blankets, hats, and other fun items that these talented designers sew up. Now…if only we could get these funky styles in adult sizes to chase away those winter blues!

So stay tuned…in the next month or so, we’re going to have some great fall and winter items for staying warm, and oh-so-colorful and fashionable!

We are really excited about all the fun, new arrivals that we’ve been getting at the Patch. Along with designer baby clothes, we are in the process of expanding our handcrafted children’s gifts section for children. We are very committed to supporting artisans in every way possible, and we love finding unusual, fun, and high quality products that support our mission and philosophy for children’s products.

You know when you see something and you say to yourself…”That’s it!”? Well…that’s how we felt when we found these great shirts from Nina & Tom. These shirts are so perfect for dressing the spirit of childhood. They are bright, fun, childlike, creative, yet simple.

We love this great frog metamorphosis shirt that shows the stages of a frog. It’s so fun and being a former teacher, I love how it teaches too!

And then this graphic, bold strawberry top is just so cute. We love the novel idea of just picturing a fruit. So simple, yet the shirt makes a statement of fun fashion. Gotta love it!

 Hopefully within the next few days we’ll also have the Nina & Tom baby bodysuits as well! Picture the same designs on a baby…now that’s absolutely precious!

On September 19, we were thrilled to discover that Cool Mom Picks featured our very funny & unique baby gift: the Sozo Whizz Kid Weeblock. We thought this product was absolutely hilarious when we saw it. We figured it would be worth a great deal of laughs at a baby shower. It would sure stand out as a memorable gift!

Cool Mom Picks is a great blog for parents to find the latest and most unique baby and children’s products. We are honored that they would find a product a Polkadot Patch Boutique to feature!

No matter if you own a business or not, there never seems to be enough time for everything that needs to be done! We still have ongoing “to-do” lists that never seem to get enough lines crossed out.

 But…we are happy to be in contact with a number of new artisans that have such exciting products! We love seeing such creative and imaginative ideas and are amazed by what an individual (or team) can do!

 We hope to be listing a lot more artisan gifts in the next few weeks. We did just put into our store the most amazing artwork from Libby Davison. This very talented artist has created wonderful kits from her pen and ink drawings for children. These kits appeal to every child we’ve shown them to….and we think they make the perfect gifts for children who love nature and/or animals.

We are so thrilled with our newest baby line, Baby Bol. These clothes are so fun, and being from Spain, they are so colorful, bright, and fun. The velour footed rompers are super soft and the unisex orange dog overalls are perfect for either a boy or girl. The overalls are so soft and lined with cotton, they will keep any little warm warm and cute as can be!

We had another successful meeting this week with another great Vermont artist. We are thrilled with the amount of talent in this state. We are now starting to branch out to feature other handcrafted children’s gifts from artists from other states. There is such a unique and wonderful quality to a handcrafted product and we believe this will add so much to Polkadot Patch. And of course, we just love supporting artists because we are “wanna-be’s!” 

We will be listing our new handcrafted products within the week and also our latest arrivals from designers as well.

 So much is happening at the Patch…we hardly even have time to breathe!

One of our favorite parts of the day is when the delivery truck arrives and unloads boxes of clothes that we order soooooo long ago. We love the excitement of unpacking the boxes and revisitng the fun styles. We spend plenty of time “ahhhing” over the pieces and saying “I remember this!” or “This is SO cute!”.

This week we received a number of new items from ZaZa Couture, ZaZa Bebe, Chicken Noodle, My Vintage Baby, and more. We haven’t been able to process all the new inventory yet, but by the end of the week, we should have it all live.

We did get this fun outfit from ZaZa Bebe listed today though. We love it because it’s just so unique and fun for little boys. We’ve found it really difficult to find boys clothes that really stand out as unique, and when ZaZa Couture announced their new baby line was including boys clothing, we jumped for joy. This outfit is so cute and has the trendy chocolate brown colors that is just all the rage. So fun for fall and winter is this toddler boys snail set!
