Whether it’s the barnyard, jungle, or my favorite, the robots collection, these clothes are great unisex baby clothes. We have uploaded them already to our new arrivals at Polkadot Patch Boutique and it’s hard to believe the first day, we already sold one set!
Here are a few pictures of my personal favorites:

Handcrafted children’s jewelry: funky baby gifts and more!
We are so thrilled to have the wonderful art of Keenan’s Kreations handcrafted children’s jewelry on our website. These colorful and unique bracelets and necklaces are true keepsakes that are expertly designed and crafted in Vermont. We are amazed when we see the details on these tiny beads that are made by hand. Even though we saw the studio where these beads and bracelets are made, it’s still hard to believe that someone has the patience to craft each bead, cut each tiny line, mold the intricate shapes, and imagine the designs.
We love how Keenan’s Kreations can customize her beads to match the colors and styles of designer children’s clothes. We also love how her jewelry uses the highest quality of clay, beads, wire, and fittings.
We believe these bracelets and necklaces would make great, unique baby gifts for any little girl. She will love how beautiful they are and you would love how durable they are. They are kid-tested and kid-loved. You can’t get much better than that!
So what do we do when we’re waiting for a sale?
Some days go by slower than others…some speed by. Of course now that it is summer in Vermont, we are enjoying every possible minute outside that we can. Today we even had the kids in a pool for a while which they loved.
So on the slower days at Polkadot Patch Boutique, we like to tweek things on our website, work on writing articles, search for new vendors, and make contacts with new perspective customers and vendors.
Today was a slower day until late afternoon. So we worked on modifying text, fixing up pictures, and made some important phone calls. That was until we got an order in and then we were busy fulfilling the order until the end of the day. Unfortunately the post office was already closed so the package won’t be mailed until tomorrow.
Google is finding us!
Today we discovered that we are beginning to show on Google searches. We knew that people were finding us on Google, but we weren’t sure how well we were doing. So far so good! We are beginning to show up on key phrases like unique baby clothes, gender neutral clothes, and even funky kids clothing. It’s been a pleasant surprise because we didn’t expect to be found so quickly.
We’ve been busy with orders and preparing for our fall inventory to arrive. We’re looking forward to some really unique designer clothing from My Vintage Baby, ZaZa Bebe, Morfs, and I Can Fly. We can’t wait until these come in because they are so unique and fun for children.
So here’s to Google finding us! We can only go up from here!
Spotlight: ZaZa Couture funky girls clothing–even on sale!
Here at Polkadot Patch Boutique, we just can’t get enough of ZaZa Couture clothing for girls. When we met the designer of this brand, we knew that she and her clothing were original! We spent a long time discussing with her how she creates these wonderful clothes and how she gets inspiration from her native European culture and home. We are so in love (if you can love children’s clothes) with the absolutely fresh and unique designs and styles.
From the signature circles embellishments with tasses to the very colorful and always rich textures, these clothes just scream for little girls who love to be unique and embrace individuality. As a mother of daughters, I hope my girls will grow to define themselves through clothing as funky and fun as ZaZa Couture. To me, these designer clothes embody strong self esteem for girls who can buck “fashion trends” and can stand up to peer pressure. Oh…and they are simply just fun to wear too.
Currently we have reduced our ZaZa Couture and put it on sale and are anxiously awaiting our fall shipment and the newly released ZaZa Bebe line for babies.
Here’s some very cute ZaZa Couture at Polkadot Patch Boutique:
Available in baby sizes 12, 18 and 24 months
Available in toddler sizes 2T, 3T, and 4T
Today was a good day for children’s clothes
We had a good day today. Finally it stopped raining here in Vermont and the sunshine was beautiful. And…we had some good sales as well. It’s so exciting when we see we have received an order. It’s always so fun to see where the order is from and where it originated. Today it was a Vermont customer which of course is near and dear to our heart!
We also were able to make a new contact with a Vermont artisan and have set up an appointment to meet with her. That’s always exciting! We met her about a month ago and finally we were able to connect. We hope it will pan out because she makes some beautiful, colorful products that are so fun and functional! Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
While I worked on website stuff…which I am beginning to think is never ending, my co-owner worked on press releases. We are really seeing the importance of submitting these and hope to put out another in the next week or so. Since she is the person in charge of that, she’s doing all that work that needs to be done.
Tomorrow will be another good day too. I just can feel it!
We’ve been getting great feedback from our recent newspaper article in the Times Argus, for Barre-Montpelier area. In fact, I was in a local Barre store recently and someone actually recognized me from the picture in the article. I felt like a celebrity. My business partner has has the same experience too! It’s pretty fun and we hope it is spreading the news of Polkadot Patch Boutique.
One disappointment with the article is that is has not brought any new Vermont artists to us. We have been getting a lot of hits (as well as solicitations) from the article, but we didn’t seem to have the reach to Vermont artisans that we were hoping for. That is just spurring us on to get more articles in the Rutland Herald and the Burlington Free Press to help us reach more great artists. It’s frustrating to us because we know that there is so much talent in this state, but locating it has been an obstacle!
In the meantime, we are busy getting another press release written and ready to go. We are about to publish another article which is currently on the parenting patch as our featured story called: How can children’s clothes help develop a child’s identity or personality?
And, we sent our our first newsletter today for people subscribed to our mailing list. This was a work of love, but once we figured it out…easy! It’s pretty exciting to see how people click in from the newsletter and hopefully they will find things they love.
Unique handcrafted baby and children’s gifts: Vermont made teddy bears!
At Polkadot Patch Boutique, we love selling unique, handcrafted baby and children’s gifts. We love how we get to meet the artisans who create these amazing products, build a relationship with them and then assist them in introducing their crafts to the world via Polkadot Patch.
When we look at these handmade products it’s all we can do but admire the craftsmanship, the highest of quality of materials, and the very original masterpieces our Vermont artists have created. Often we are amazed at the process by which the products are made and the painstaking and time consuming work it is.
Inevitably we just love these products and know what amazing gifts they would make for a baby shower, birthday, holiday gift, or a just-because-I-knew-you-would-love-it-present. A handcrafted gift is not only unique, but it also is such a welcomed change from the mass-produced, big box stores gifts that all look alike. Hopefully the babies and children receiving these gifts will be inspired to be more unique, creative, original, and artistic as well.
Here’s our latest handcrafted arrival. From the upper most region of Vermont, these bears are entirely crafted with love, experience, and lot’s of kid-testing!
This bear is just a perfect gift for a newborn baby. It’s bright, colorful and totally unisex in red, yellow, and blue. Its body lies flat so a baby can easily lay upon it and won’t be bothered. The head rotates so that either of the colorful sides can face out. It’s an original design from Bears & Things. And for only $28…what an absolute keepsake that’s so affordable!
Then we have this wonderful solid red teddy bear which is perfect for either a boy or girl! This bear is as bright and cheery as can be and will get the giggles to take over. Handcrafted in Vermont makes it even a more special gift. Then we have this wonderful solid red teddy bear. Also perfect for either a boy or girl, this bear is as bright and cheery as can be. Finally our article appears!
While we were out of town, finally the article about Polkadot Patch Boutique appeared in the local Times Argus paper. We kept waiting and waiting and while we were both out of town we received an order. When we checked the referrer for the sale, it was actually the article. What a pleasant surprise!
We’re really pleased with the story and the overall feel of it. We really feel that the journalist captured the essence of our story. Since we were both out of town when it was published, we didn’t even realize it was the front page of the business section. What an even better surprise! Hopefully the word will begin to get out throughout Vermont that we are looking for new vendors.
